It is my pleasure to cultivate a small, joyful practice in the Bay area!
Style and Approach
My bodywork approach creatively integrates an array of modalities selected based on the needs of the client as assessment and practiced intuition indicate. Techniques might include: Holistic Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Sculpting, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Hydrotherapy, assisted stretching, Breath & Subtle Energy Work, Neuromuscular therapies, and others.
My style has been described as intuitive, creative, sensitive and technically skilled. I enjoy working with clients to facilitate injury rehabilitation and enhance physical performance.
I completed a 1000 hour Massage Therapy program in 1995 at Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Tucson, AZ. DIHA offered an anatomy and physiology intensive program with an emphasis on integrative bodywork modalities and assessment methods. Since then, through occasional continuing Education as well as many clients (my best teachers) and thousands of massages, I have continued to develop technical skill, creative application, intuitive ability and a general body of knowledge. I am CAMTC (#50725) certified and am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. I am currently working on the recently rolled out NCBTMB Specialty Certification “Rehabilitative Massage Therapy” with Whitney Lowe.
Other interests include; wood and metal craft, sculpture, western astrology, being a mom to a (now) adult daughter, cycling (long-time bike commuter) and the occasional partial triathlon training.
